Galleries are now Friends Only

Posted on 2009.04.18 at 13:51

I have decided that the Galleries on both journals,
(Life-in-Print and Ashes-in-Print) will now be friends only.

This is because I should like to see who is accessing the site,
plus, despite asking for comments on posts, I often get none -
so I dont know if anyone is using it!

'Friend me' and you will be able to access the Galleries as before.

Plus a new little scan that says so much, regarding a certain Timelord and his nemesis has been hidden in the John Simm Doctor Who gallery...look if you dare

Tony Jordan talks Life on Mars on 'Screenwipe'

Posted on 2008.12.03 at 23:18
Current Mood: content

Can I draw your attention to a great programme broadcast on BBC4 this week and still available on the BBC iPlayer. Not only are there mentions of Life on Mars from contributor Tony Jordan (who mostly refers to his EastEnders work), but Doctor Who, Torchwood and Queer as Folk from Russell T Davies, Paul Abbott on State of Play and Shameless and Father Ted and the IT show from Graham Linehan. It is a good watch for anyone itching to get into writing, discussing the pitfalls of the blank page, rewrites, the process each writer goes through, need I say more.

Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe Writers Special. (50mins available until 11.20pm Tues 9th Dec)

'In a writers' special, Brooker is joined by some of the best in the business to talk about how you make a TV programme actually happen. The people and pens behind Doctor Who, Father Ted, Peep Show, Life on Mars, Shameless and many more lead us through the joys and pitfalls of writing, with the added benefit of some of the best bits from the programmes.'(from iPlayer)

LOM US ARTICLE AND NEWS ABOUT 'DEATH RAY'

Posted on 2008.08.22 at 19:06
Current Mood: crushed

After the sad demise of the print version of Dreamwatch last year, I now have to report that the continuously excellent Death Ray mag (still a relative newcomer to Sci Fi publishing) is becoming quarterly rather than keeping to its 13 issue year. Boo.

Anyway here is a LOM US article from the latest issue of Death Ray. Enjoy

Finally passed my driving test today (fourth attempt and was getting very tired of it all)
It's only taken a million years to get here and I still can't believe it! Am now unable to stop grinning.

And there is a new gallery for the Cult TV Weekender (October 2007) for you to enjoy on the last page of the Galleries

SECOND BALLOON RACE 14th JUNE 2008

There will be a second balloon race on Saturday 14th June 2008 to mark what would have been my Dad John’s birthday. The three people whose balloons travel the furthest will be the winners and they will all have a flight in an aircraft.

To enter you only need to make a donation of £5 or more to the Fund. Your money does not have to be with us before the launch date, as the contest for this race will run for a whole year. Many of the balloons launched will be unallocated - as we receive donations we will have a ‘lucky dip’ to assign a tag to each new contributor.

Every £25 gives a disadvantaged young person a flight and £100 pays for a scholarship flying lesson.

To see pictures of the last balloon race why not take a look at the galleries at  JFMF_GALLERIES

Donations to the fund can be made by cheque payable to the 'John Farley Memorial Fund' and sent to:

Janis Farley,
P.O. Box 2221,
Pulborough,
RH20 9AA.
ENGLAND

Hello Chaps,

Just a few new uploads for you today. Two TV Zone bits covering the new US version of LOM in the schedules in America and for those John Simm fans out there two new sub-galleries in Non-LOM John Simm. One for his episode of Cracker and one for State of Play. As always please enjoy.
